This Lockscreen really is one-of-a-kind. With an interactive interface which is updated at a interval of your choice – NixHD is ahead of the game. NixHD sees eight customisable settings which can be changed on-the-fly, meaning no re-springs! That’s right, just change your settings via the included Safari configuration panel and carry on with your day!
This Lockscreen really is something special. Best of all, it’s completely free.
SQLite Caching & Notification System
NixHD uses my usual caching system to prevent data usage every time you wake up your iPhone to check the Lockscreen – something the majority of Lockscreens fail to do. This time though, I’ve taken it a little further…
If a new tweet has been downloaded since you last looked – a mini exclamation mark badge will appear on the Lockscreen’s Twitter tag. Simply tap it to read the tweet and mark it as read, regardless of any re-springs/restarts!

NixHD Settings
You must visit the following configuration page to first initiate NixHD if you’re on iOS 4.2 onward.
NixHD includes a Safari configuration panel from which you can change eight settings. You can reach this page by going to the following URL in Safari (and Safari only). The URL requires ‘file:// for Safari’ from Cydia:
file:///Library/Themes/NixHD.theme/setup.html
The settings include:
- Clock Format – 12/24 hour
- Show weather (Also enables/disables weather data usage)
- Weather Location
- Temperature Unit
- Update interval for weather (with caching system)
- Show Twitter (Also enables/disables Twitter data usage)
- Twitter Name to Follow
- Update interval for Twitter (with caching system)
Simply choose your settings and hit ‘Save’ at the bottom of the page. There’s no need for re-springs!
